Bacon-flavored Vodka

0A8AD8EC-FC41-4E93-81F2-100479FD88D4.jpg

I enjoy bacon as much as the next person, but this might be taking it a bit far.

Anyone care to try this out ? Let us know how it is if you do.

YesButNoButYes: Bacon-flavored Vodka:

Bacon Vodka

Makes up one pint

Fry up three strips of bacon
Add cooked bacon to a clean pint sized mason jar. Trim the ends of the bacon if they are too tall to fit in the jar. Or you could go hog wild and just pile in a bunch of fried up bacon scraps.
Optional: add crushed black peppercorns.
Fill the jar up with vodka. Cap and place in a dark cupboard for at least three weeks.(No need to refrigerate)
At the end of the three week resting period, place the bacon vodka in the freezer to solidify the fats. Strain out the fats through a coffee filter to yield a clear filtered pale yellow bacon vodka.
Decant into decorative bottles and enjoy.”

images.jpegPhilly is back on the map as a brew city. Schmidt’s left in 1987, but now the city is making a come back where brewing beer is concerned. Local and regional breweries include Victory, Sly Fox, Stoudts, Yards, and Dogfish Head.

Be sure to check out the article for a good read.

R.I.P Buddy Miles

buddymiles.jpgBuddy Miles has died.

He’ll probably best be remembered for his drumming with Jimi Hendrix’s Band of Gypsys, but also played with bands that included The Delfonics, and Electric Flag with Mike Bloomfield.
Along with playing drums he sang vocals for the California Raisins ad campaign in 1986.

He died at the age of 60. No announcement as of yet as to what caused his death.
